About this deal

I had found the description intriguing, but now that I know it romanticizes rape and glorifies assault I'm out. This guy deals with human trafficking, prostitutions, kidnapping and all the bad things happens to human kind. These scenes are so corny, I mean there’s these senators who are doing it and Z and his group are trying to hack into their society which hey? And let’s face it, we don’t necessarily always pick up dark romance books because of the great storylines, so I think that’s an achievement!

I went into this book thinking it would be something like the mind f*ck series cause it had the same trigger warnings.I probably would have been able to continue and give this a decent rating if it wasn’t for the TW// lack of consent, supposedly cnc mess.

Lastly, I did dnf this book, and I guess it is possible for it to get better (i think i heard the second book is better) but I'm really not interested in giving this book another chance. From what I've read about whats in this book I really can't understand how people think this is dark romance? A lot of darker themes are tackled here and as a reader you need to be smart about knowing what you're walking into. Stories that feature wicked worlds and the worst kind of villains that don’t talk about themselves in third person. This book literally perpetuates the idea that abuse and rape is normal and that a guy can love and care for you even if he does those horrible things to you.I disagree with the sheer number of poor reviews on this book strictly due to the fact that the readers were unprepared for the disturbing and dark content. Like I'm genuinely personally offended that I have to associate with her because never do I meet women who are like this in real life. He begins watching her from outside her house and taunting her over text message 😌 His mind games were absolutely the best part about this. So again, this book has no romantic aspect, thin plot and bad characters, so people read it for the smut.

I'm going to start out with this because I feel like otherwise it'll get lost in the end of my review and no one will care but can we please stop making sapphic relationships a joke? Way too long and drawn out, yet with a f*ing cliffhanger and dont get me started on the irony of working towards rescuing abused women and children but still abuse the person you want to be with.Unfortunately a lot of reviews are taken as a direct stab to the author or the book, instead of as they should be take, an opinion. There’s a parallel story where our dark knight is also a hero chasing pedophiles, witch, u know, is a good thing! I-cant-bear-to-see-innocent-kids-raped-at-the-hands-of-powerful-men-and-I-have-to-save-them-with-my-chiseled-jaw-and-ugly-scar, RAPES THE MAIN CHARACTER WITH A GUN.

If it was truly that, it would be discussed prior to the actual act of sex, rather than him saying stupid shit like "I'm only doing this because I know you want it" after she REPEATEDLY told him no. Trigger warning or not , isn't it why 'no' isn't taken as an answer by some people because they think you secretly like it? I think what I find so unappealing about this male character is that you don't see him trying to win over the fmc. si tu kink es violacion te quiero presa hija de puta, "pero es romance oscuro" pero chupame bien la poronga desde cuando el romance oscuro tiene que ser solo sobre abusos y violaciones? Other than the fact that this whole sentence was unnecessary, if concrete flew into your eyes, you know damn well you'd fall to the ground like a bug.

I will not be manipulated by "okay he does this to her but look at all the girls and women he's saving! He goes on and on about how those men should burn in hell for what they've done yet here he is casually and remorselessly stalking and raping a girl in his free time. The vigilante stuff was pretty fun, though it would have been better if the hero’s reason for risking his life wasn’t just ‘cause I like to kill bad people’. I read spoiler reviews of who the killer was and I'm really not that surprised but I also just did not care.
