About this deal

Her struggles with self doubt, feeling inadequate with her work, and feeling too old to pursue her dreams is definitely something I could relate to and I loved that it was a featured element in her story. Between their sunny and vibrant covers and their promise of romance and happily ever afters, I think readers are going to find them irresistible. If you love reading books that leave you with a smile on your face when you finish, then Ciao for Now is the PERFECT book for you!

As for the spice — while there is an intimate scene in the book, if removed — it wouldn’t take much away from it. The fiery attraction between the sunshiny, optimistic, caring, artsy, creative, and quirky Violetta and the grouchy, surly, charismatic, and playful Matt absolutely excited me!I read a lot of contemporary and historical, both adult and YA, and I've also been enjoying more and more fantasy lately. Violet’s immature nature for someone her age - I know she’s in a growth period in her life, but she (and sometimes Matt) read as early twenties to me instead of late twenties/early thirties. Almost as soon as Violet lands in Rome, she manages to trip and fall in a cafe, crash landing on a sexy man, crushing his laptop and dousing him in coffee. Their animosity (and undeniable chemistry) grows as together they’re forced to face a summer of chic parties, adventures through Rome and sharing a home…with the person they can’t stand the most.

Violet needs to win this competition to launch her fashion career but sparks fly as she spends more time with Matt and the distraction might cost her the prize. Because it turns out that the man from the café is Matteo, her professor’s eternally grumpy son, who thinks she’s a clumsy American…and maybe a stalker. With pitch-perfect prose and razor-sharp wit, Kate Bromley delivers an Italian vacation within the pages of this charming novel.

Although she tries to make things right, he's not impressed with her profuse apologies and she later discovers that he is her professor's son, Matt, who will be living in the same house with her for the summer. The angst and banter between Violet and Matt seemed so real and believable and my only wish is that there would have been more! I also loved the focus on fashion and despite this being a romance, it is also about Violet's journey and how she pursues her passion for design. They even realize they enjoy each other's company - actually, they enjoy it more than they expected!
