To be honest, by the time I got to part 2 I was too exhausted and overwhelmed by the amount of information to follow through on any of it. As someone who appreciates the human brain and its infinite capacity for growth and change, I was very excited to read Dr. Leaf provides us with a comprehensive yet practical guide to finally managing the clutter in our minds with science-based tools that actually work. But overall, I absolutely loved this book and really think applying these things consistently in my life on a daily basis would help.Then, she processed her mind-set and understood that it was a natural response to potentially losing a special gift.

At first look, it may seem like this book is a dry, hard-to-follow narrative that is full of scientific jargon that will go in one ear and out the other. Unfortunately, the pharmaceutical fixes that represent the central tools of modern medicine fall far short when it comes to such pervasive issues as anxiety, depression and other challenges to mood and mental wellness. Leaf has written several best-selling books, including Switch On Your Brain, Think and Eat Yourself Smart, and Think, Learn, Succeed. While her newest publication from Baker Books has a bit of a contentious title (it is not something I can easily give as a gift without offending the recipient! Caroline Leaf leverages over 30 years of clinical experience to offer us empowering, effective and time-tested guidance for unravelling toxic stress and regaining control of our mental state, paving the way for happiness, satisfaction, and contentment.

it’s so fascinating that we can quite literally change our brains and our bodies with our thought patterns. Some mental illnesses can be prevented so efforts to increase our sense of psychological wellbeing are worthy efforts indeed! Don’t let the dark side in, see your own light and this book as well as all Dr Leafs stuff will help. She has a lot to say in the importance of cleaning up toxic thoughts and how it can benefit our minds in the short and long term.
